Although this is just outside of Kenley, Kenley Cllrs wanted to inform residents that the Croydon and District Education Trust (CADET) are preparing an application for Land at Kenley Campus on Victor Beamish Avenue, comprising 88 dwellings, including 36 affordable homes, and will shortly be launching a public consultation for the project.
They say that the site was identified in the Tandridge District Council’s Housing Land and Economic Availability Assessment in 2015 and has been included in the subsequent iterations of the Local Plan.
The proposals comprise 88 residential dwellings across the site, which includes 36 affordable homes and will contain a mix from 2-bedroom units to 5-bedroom family units. They suggest that ample parking will be provided in addition to secure cycle storage within garages and back gardens.
The applicant states that the proposed layout and density have been designed in order to preserve the character and the appearance of the Kenley Conservation Area and to protect the special interest of the Grade II-listed NAAFI building.
The applicant also says that the proposals will result in a relatively low density of development at 20 dwellings per hectare and that the site will be well screened through the maximum retention of trees enabling the opportunity for further tree planting.
The applicant wants to consult the local community and take feedback in the development of its proposals, and so it is hosting a public consultation to be held from 15 – 29 March 2023.
As part of this consultation events will be held at OneSchoolGlobal Kenley Campus on the following dates:
- Wednesday 15 March, 4-8pm
- Saturday 18 March, 11am – 3pm - date changes - see below.
As we receive more information about this proposal, we'll update this blog.
UPDATE 28 February 2023: A website with more information about the development is available at https://kenleycampusdevelopment.com/
UPDATE 13 March 2023: Unfortunately, due to the disruptive impact of planned rail strikes, we have had to postpone one of the consultation events, from Saturday 18 March to a new date of Wednesday 22 March, 4-8pm.
