When I was first elected eight years ago, one of my first pieces of casework was to reinforce the pigeon deterrents under the rail bridge - these pigeons are wily, so we need to do it all over again!
I lodged a request with the Council and I'm pleased to report that the works have been ordered to be carried out by the contractor, FM Conway Ltd.
The works need to be designed and implemented to prevent pigeon resting and landing on the underneath of the bridge for 12 months. The engineer envisages that the works will involve a mixture of wire mesh and spikes preventing pigeons from taking roost underneath the bridge.
As soon as approval has been granted through a street notice by Network Management, they'll carry out the works with two-way traffic lights at the bridge, and the works will commence over two days.
