UPDATE: 17th November 2024
The wooded section of Old Lodge Lane wasn't resurfaced at this time. We've received the following update from Highways Officers:
"Regarding the resurfacing of Old Lodge Lane, the wooded section of Old Lodge Lane was due to be treated with micro-surfacing over the summer, however, due to extensive drainage works that were taking place at the time along Coulsdon Road, and the need to divert traffic to other roads in the area, it was not possible to treat that section of Old Lodge Lane. Microsurfacing is reliant on being introduced in the warmer times of the year (May to September) and as such, the completion of the work had to be put off until next year. In the meantime, we will continue to inspect the road and undertake any repairs as necessary".

Next week, part of Old Lodge Lane will be closed for resurfacing works. The section closing is from Hayes Lane to Colescroft Hill.
Over the past year, local councillors have worked with officers to highlight the need for highways works, so we’re pleased that these have been scheduled, but also appreciate the short-term inconvenience that this cause to residents and most specifically to those who use the 312 bus. Needless to say, surrounding route will also see an increase in traffic.
As a result of the closure, the 312 will now terminate at Reedham Station and won’t serve Old Lodge Lane for the 3 days that the road is closed.
The road will close between Wednesday 23rd and Friday 25th of October and you can check the bus route at https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey.

Other road defects on Old Lodge Lane
I know that other parts of Old Lodge Lane also need works and I would encourage residents to use the LoveCleanStreets app to report those. LoveCleanStreets is great for registering any street problems that need council attention. These range from potholes, defective road signs, or fly tipping. The app will automatically attach your GPS location and a photo can easily be added to any report.
