I have been belatedly notified today that work started yesterday in the Huntingfield/Falconwood Road area in relation to the decommissioning of the Beddington to Rowdown cable owned by National Grid. The work involves installing a new oil monitoring pit to monitor cable oil and allow for future oil removal over time.
The work started on 26th January 2021. It is estimated that it will take approximately ten to twelve days to complete. Working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm. The timing and duration of the work may be subject to change due to site and weather conditions.
