I have certainly noticed more speeding cars since before we went into our first Lockdown.
Some residents have contacted me with concerns about safety because of the speed of traffic on some roads. I requested a speed monitor from the Council but due to COVID, the Councils bankruptcy and TFL funding cuts could not assist residents.
Enforcement of speeding traffic is the legal responsibility of the police. Considering their pressures and frontline role enforcing Covid restrictions I was really pleased when the South Croydon Safer Neighbourhood Team stepped in to help residents in Croham and Campden roads. They have at the moment the use of a speed gun.
