It was great to meet with James today from the Friends of Lloyd Park Group. We talked about how and why the group had been set up by volunteers and was still relatively new - only three years old!.
James outlined the aims of the group to promote the park and protect the area. He explained the great events that they've held previously, ranging from history walks to nature photography sessions.
We discussed tackling litter in the park, park run, future events and how we can work together to make the park work best for everyone. We also discussed working with other community and friends groups locally to link up the green spaces in Park Hill and Whitgift.
