I was pleased to join Purley BID today for a spot of litter-picking, and there was sadly no shortage of rubbish to collect. By the time we'd finished we had about 8 bags of rubbish, mainly drinks containers thrown out of passing vehicles. Purley is at the intersection of two major trunk roads: A22 & A23, so there's a VAST amount of through traffic whose drivers don't even know or care where they are... but someone has to clear up the mess they leave, and I'm delighted that the BID steps into the breach.
