And here they are:
I am contacting you on behalf of Lidl GB, regarding the site of the former Good Companions Public House in Hamsey Green. Lidl GB is the freeholder of the land, which is identified and allocated in the adopted Local Plan (2018) for the provision of between 8-24 homes alongside retail use.
Reflecting Lidl’s aspirations to deliver a scheme in accordance with the current adopted Local Plan, Lidl is now in the process of preparing a planning application for a mixed residential and retail development, with new townhouses and apartments (including affordable housing) on the ground and upper floors, above a new store and associated car parking at ground floor level.
We appreciate that Lidl’s previous attempts to develop the site have generated a mix of responses. Therefore to address any local concerns, over the coming days we are launching a full public consultation including a leaflet with freepost feedback form (attached), a website which will be fully launched soon (hamseygreen.newsite.lidl.co.uk) and in-person event.
The drop-in community consultation event will be on Wednesday 26 February at Warlingham Rugby Football Club on Limpsfield Road (CR6 9RB). This event will be open to the public between 4pm and 8pm, but we will be holding a separate session at the consultation event for local councillors and stakeholders between 2.30pm and 3.30pm. In addition, a preview session for nearest neighbours and local retailers will be held between 3.30pm and 4pm.
We hope that you are able to attend the event on Wednesday 26th February at any time from 2.30pm-8pm.
While the vast bulk of the site sits within Croydon, a small area is in Tandridge and planning applications will need to be submitted to both Councils for consideration. Therefore we have issued this invitation email to both Croydon and Tandridge councillors.
The Sanderstead councillors welcome an opportunity to discuss the proposals and will be putting a date in the diary.
