What a contrast from the scorching heat of my blog last week about the St Barnabas patronal service! It was cold and miserable yesterday at Purley Cross at the launch of Purley Bid's campaign to win a prize for Purley as part of the London in Bloom campaign.
About 12 residents met at the large grass/underpass area in the middle of Purley Cross with the objective of clearing some of the muck and rubbish that has accumulated in the undergrowth, and If we win a prize, the money could be used to make big improvements to this area.
