Croydon Council is developing a comprehensive Town Centre Regeneration Strategy to guide the transformation of Croydon's town centre over the next 15 years. Recognising the importance of community input, the council is asking local residents, community groups, and businesses to help shape Croydon’s future.
To facilitate this engagement, the council is hosting a ‘Croydon’s Future Spaces’ drop-in session on Friday, 12th July, from 9 am to midday at Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church, Reedham Park Avenue, Purley, CR8 4BQ. It offers a valuable opportunity for residents to engage directly with members of the Project Team and the Council’s Regeneration Team, discussing and influencing the vision for the future of Croydon's town centre.
During the session, attendees can review the ideas gathered so far, provide their comments, thoughts, and queries, and contribute to shaping a vibrant and welcoming town centre that aligns with the needs and aspirations of the community.
For those unable to attend in person, the council is also offering online workshops on:
- Wednesday, 10th July from 5 pm to 6 pm
- Thursday, 11th July from 1 pm to 2 pm
Interested participants can book their spots for these online sessions via the following link: Croydon Urban Room - What's On.
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon, emphasised the importance of community involvement in this initiative, stating, “We are developing a vision for a vibrant and welcoming town centre where people want to live, work, and visit. It’s really important that our residents, businesses, and partners are involved, so do sign up for a workshop. The regeneration of the town centre is a priority in my Business Plan 2022-2026, and I look forward to hearing the wide range of views put forward.”
Don’t miss this chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Croydon’s town centre. Your input is invaluable in creating a community that thrives and meets the needs of its residents and visitors alike.
