It was good to have the opportunity to visit I'mPossible at 50 High Street Croydon. They do great work. Cllr Bird and I also had the opportunity to talk to residents at the coffee morning arranged for adults with learning disabilities. There follows a little bit about the organisation. They have a great gym.
'mPossible is an intervention service working closely with individuals to enhance their mental, physical and social wellbeing and rehabilitation. We work with people in improving self-esteem and confidence, breaking bad habits and building resilience through interventions such as martial arts, fitness, mentoring, counselling etc.
I’mPossible is based in South London with a reach that extends across the capital. With now over a decade of experience in social, academic and physical support; we work with approximately 600 individuals per year, consisting of young people and adults. Working alongside local authorities, private and not-for-profit organisations, we work to empower a self sufficient positive attitude.
We work throughout the year in a range of capacities from supporting holiday camps to mentoring in schools, along with private one to one and group projects that are bespoke to the client or customer.
We believe that having an “I'm Possible State of Mind” is Key. We want to help people identify and fulfil their purpose while living a balanced, healthy lifestyle. We believe that no one should deem themselves unworthy or any one task to be impossible – after all, even the word itself says I’m-possible. With the right support and small targets - we can achieve goals.
Our vision is to create a hub based around rehabilitation, while utilising our many links in the community to signpost people in the direction towards growth. We hope to be supported through funding so that we can offer many free services, as well as offer sponsorship opportunities where we recognise a need. We aim to inspire positive change that will ripple through generations – if we can adopt an “I’m Possible state of mind” then inevitably we can break cycles and become better versions of ourselves.
