Sadly due to the extremely icy roads and weather conditions a car coming down Sanderstead Hill has spun round and hit a lamppost at the top of Purley Oaks Road. I don't think anyone has been injured. I do hope that the roads have been gritted. This is a particularly nasty spot and not the first time accidents have occurred at this junction. I also reported the concern of elderly residents attending the vaccination centres and asked the director at the council to ensure the roads around these centres were gritted. He is going to do his best. Do take care and only go out if you have to. Cllr Yvette Hopley
