I make no apology for being strongly opposed to it , principally for the following reasons:
Obstruction caused by right-turning vehicles
Obstruction caused to emergency vehicles
Obstruction caused by stationary delivery vehicles
Increased obstruction caused during road works
Increased difficulties for buses
Increased difficulties for motorbikes
Dangers of barrier design
Increased road maintenance costs
Increased pollution resulting from increased congestion
Increased traffic on side roads caused by congested main road
Increased congestion at Purley Oaks Recycling Centre
Denial of parking for Christchurch Purley
Inherent unfairness in allocating such a high proportion of a scarce road resource to a tiny minority of road users, at expense of all others.
