I've received an update from Council officers after pushing them to act urgently to repair the Hartley Hill soakaway and sinkhole.
I have today been told that works will commence on Monday 29th April and this will take 3-4 weeks to complete "subject to no unforeseen circumstances".
While the remedial works are taking place, Hartley Hill will be closed to vehicular traffic but access will be maintained to pedestrians. The diversion route for vehicular traffic will be as shown on the attached map.
I know there were issues with bin collections this week and I'm grateful to officers for pushing Veolia on this. I have been assured that bins will be collected while the works are taking place.
Officers have also added that due to the nature of these works it is inevitable that disruptions will occur. Therefore, it is recommended that where possible residents should use alternative routes and/or allow extra time to complete their journey. The operatives on site will also be available to help in the event of any emergency.
I appreciate this is far from ideal and want to thank residents for their patience. If I can be of any assistance or if you want me to raise further enquiries, please email me at [email protected]
