Prior to COVID the council took the decision to close the Hamsey Green Neighbourhood Recycling Centre. Many of the residents living in flats relied on the facility to take their plastics, paper, etc., having only a very small space at home to store refuse. Sadly, the council closed the centre and didn't provide any additional facilities for these residents. The green in front of the shops is now strewn with bags that are often opened by foxes leaving litter around the whole area. One resident has asked for cages to be supplied where the recycling centre once stood. I have asked that council to consider this as you can imagine the local people don't want to live in squalor.
