Many walkers in Croham Hurst woods will know that particularly in these times of climate change the heavy rain runs down a deep ravine from the the top of the Hurst. It runs down by the Whitgift Foundation owned path alongside the Golf Course. Unfortunately all the soil and debris ends up on the pavement and road on Manor Way. I chaired the Friends of Croham Hurst woods for 21 years and walked in these wonderful woods for even longer. I noticed that the gully was now sitting much higher on the edge of the ravine due to the rains deepening it. I asked the Council to look into it. Officers couldn’t find it on any maps. I was pleased however the officer visited the Hurst to investigate.
He has raised a work order to clear, jet and investigate the gully.
I am now waiting for an update.
