Applications are now open for a £1 million Defibrillator Community Automated External Defibrillators (AED) fund.
The Department for Health and Social Care has launched a fund to help fund public accessible defibrillators. This will provide 2,000 new public access defibrillators for communities across England. Anyone can apply and 1,900 applications will receive match funding of £750.
Expanding access to defibrillators is important and it has been great to see residents coming together to support fundraising for a defib by the Wattendon Pub.
In October 2022, I blogged about the British Heart Foundation’s new defib map, The Circuit, and put a call out for Kenley residents:
- Do you know of any defibs that aren’t on the map?
- Can you encourage Guardians to register them?
I have also recently written to GTR, who manage Southern, Thameslink, Great Northern and Gatwick Express railways, to ask to register the defibs at stations such as Kenley on the defib map.
