On the eve of Remembrance Day, people of many faiths, and perhaps no faith, joined together at the Faiths Together in Croydon Remembrance & Peace Event for All Faiths at the Braithwaite Hall in the Town Hall to recognise the people of many faiths who fought in the World Wars. Of course, was continues to be present and so we remember those who have fought in the past and those who continue to do so now. We heard from leaders and followers of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu faiths who shared their scriptures with us. We were also joined by a representative from the Police who focusses on Faith issues and chaplains from Croydon University Hospital and Whitgift School. Thanks should also go to Penny Smith-Orr who did so much to organise the event.
Closing the event, Executive Mayor Jason Perry said that he would like to make this event an annual event as we have so much to share with each other. Perhaps we should also bring a friend along too to make this event bigger and better!
