At last the grass verges have been cut on Sanderstead Hill and Hamsey Green. Sadly the result of this combined with the heavy rain has blocked the drains with the large clumps of grass. Some residents have contacted me stating that the debris gathered with the rain water is now in their gardens due to surface water flooding. I have reported this to the council in the hope this can somehow be prevented. Small grass cuttings were never a problem but haystacks of grass are now ending up in low spots of Sanderstead pushed downhill by the heavy rain causing serious damage and concerns to properties in the area. Needless to say the drains are full of grass!
