Croham Valley Road has many lovely large family homes, some of Arts and Crafts design.
Unfortunately although it is not in an intensification zone it has been a target for developers with multiple applications for blocks of flats all approved by the Labour controlled Planning Committee. Despite numerous objections from residents, ward councillors and Conservative members of Planning Committee the loss of family houses, green space and nature habitat continues. Above all the special character of this local area is being slowly destroyed. The local resident association Croham Valley RA has laid out starkly the loss of family homes.
No 10 CVR replaced with 8 flats, 5 CVR replaced by 2 blocks of terraced housing,
No 6 CVR replaced by 9 flats, 31/33 CVR approval for 8 flats, no's 3 and 7 CVR decision pending for 7 and 9 flats.
I have no doubt more planning applications of this type will come forward.
