Coulsdon Town councillors had a date scheduled to meet NHS representatives this week to discuss the tweaking of plans for Coulsdon’s new Health Centre that we and residents’ associations have long fought for.
It was with considerable disappointment that we heard last week that the current building developer has paused all their projects that they are not contractually obliged to complete. This includes the proposed new Coulsdon Health Centre. So today’s meeting turned into something a little different to what we had planned.
We are assured that the NHS remains fully committed to developing a new health centre so residents can benefit from improved care and diagnostic services.
Some time is required to assess the impact of rising interest rates and other external factors on the project’s financial viability.
When we met today we were again reassured that the commitment to the Centre remains and we agreed to meet again early December when more information should be available about the project’s timing.
As and when we have more information, it will be posted on this site.
