We were thrilled to learn that Purley in Bloom was awarded a GOLD Award and an It’s Your Neighbourhood, Level 4 ‘Thriving’ Awards for the Friends of Rotary Field and Friends of Purley Cross recently at the London in Bloom Awards Ceremony 2024 at RHS Garden Wisley.
Each In Bloom entry is scored against a set of criteria under three main pillars:
- Horticultural Achievement
- Environmental Responsibility
- Community Participation
The Purley in Bloom volunteers work tirelessly to make Purley a prettier place. It is obvious that the district centre is much improved thanks to their hard work and a number of residents and local businesses have commented this to us.
So many congratulations to Pam who runs Purley in Bloom and the Purley BID who have driven this. This is very well deserved!

It is a very friendly, welcoming group of like-minded people who want to improve the environment in Purley, meet new people and have fun, whether you have gardening experience or are looking to learn more. They meet on Saturday mornings at 10.30am for 90 minutes, followed by refreshments in a Purley establishment.
