Here's another example of the small-scale but disastrous local consequences of Labour's reckless spending over the last few years.
A local facebook group drew my attention to the fact that this bench at the corner of Foxley Hill Rd & Godstone Rd badly needs repair/replacement, and to reduce litter, it's always a good idea to have a litter bin close to any bench. I was about to fill in the forms to make this happen when the Labour Council issued the S114 notice banning all non-essential expenditure, even that which had been previously budgeted. I cannot claim that the replacement of this bench is essential, but it's one of the small ways in which I and my colleagues try to respond to local needs and demands.... and now I can't - I'm really sorry.
