Local residents in Cane Hill will be aware that I've been trying to work with Barratt David Wilson Homes to get the street lighting sorted in Chaucer Gardens since April.
I recently received the following reply:
I apologise for the delay in response you have experienced, however I needed to contact the correct parties to provide an update.
I have been advised the streetlamp NC33 located by Plot 33 has been completed by SSE Electric, although the Solar lamp head requires replacing, I have been advised that there are a number that require attending to by Colas and will be attending to these all at once, we are currently awaiting C___ K_____ to confirm.
It's great that our lobbying has finally paid off, but it beggars belief that families have had to live in darkness for nearly four months - and DWH still haven't fixed all of the broken streetlights!
I've asked them why it took so long to fix one; why the others weren't also repaired; when residents can expect them to be fully operational; and requested that they send a letter to residents affected informing them of the situation.
