It has been another busy week as we have continued to celebrate Croydon’s Year as the Borough of Culture. It was great to join with the community of Croydon in the Braithwaite Hall on Saturday (4th November) to celebrate and learn the important role that the Sikh Community has played in the history of Croydon.
On the same day, across in the David Lean Cinema it was good to join a lively audience as we watched the film work of Captain Zip that celebrated the punk culture in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
Later in the week (9th November) I joined with Slide Dance and pupils from Meridian High as they performed two dance pieces as part of the Croydonites programme in the Fairfield Halls.
On the same evening it was a pleasure to join with faith leaders from across Croydon as we took time to remember those who have fought for the freedom we enjoy today and also to pray for peace in our community.
