It has been another enjoyable week as I joined the Mayor, Councillor Yvette Hopley (Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care) and Croydon Council Staff to raise a flag and awareness of International Day of People with Disabilities that took place on the 3rd December.
On Saturday (2nd December) it was great to join with a number of long serving Library Volunteers including Montse Corominas and Eddie Whiston (in photo) along with new potential volunteers to celebrate all the work they do to support our library service. It was also good to catch up with our friends from Clear Community Web who do work across Croydon to help residents become more IT literate.
Finally, it was great to visit the Croydon Youth Theatre Organisation and speak with Andrew and the team to learn more about how they hope to develop their building. It was also great to see how the current building is being used. Young people were taking part in music and creative arts workshops as well as taking an active role in inputting their ideas on how the building can be developed in the future.
Really looking forward to this weekend when there will be fun for all the family as we celebrate 'A Very Croydon Christmas'. For more information about a numbe of free events and activities please visit www.culturecroydon.com
