On Saturday 12th July, an attempt to access Higher Drive Recreation Ground was thwarted. Although the gate and lock at the main entrance were cut, the security bollards installed after the previous incursion in August 2023 successfully prevented further entry.
Council officers promptly repaired the gate and lock and ensured that the bollards remain in good condition, effectively serving their intended purpose.
It is important to note that travellers often carry equipment capable of cutting through even the most robust gates or bollards. Therefore, local residents' vigilance is crucial. If you see any suspicious activity or attempts to force entry into our parks, please inform the police immediately.
