A resident contacted me today with the following query:
My neighbours left 20 batteries in a clear bag on top of her bin to be recycled. Instead of recycling the batteries the bin man just put the bag of batteries in with the normal general waste bin.
This isn't right, so I took it up with the Council who replied:
I am sorry that that the crew did now allow the batteries to be recycled correctly. Please assure the resident that I have forwarded this matter to their Manager today for this to be investigated via Veolia’s internal process, and to ensure that this does not happen again going forward.
If you spot anything along these lines in future, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Mistakes can be made, but they can also be easily prevented from happening again in future!
