A number of residents have contacted myself and the prospective developer about badgers being trapped in the grounds of the site of the old Rectory. Large blue hoarding now surrounds the site and the property. I can assure you that the badger doors are still in the fence and in fact the badgers have made their own way through part of the netted council fence rather preferring this route. Badgers are known to take the same routes when they are out foraging for food during the night. I often see them on the banks of Sanderstead Hill. The developer has also cut a space in the hoarding to allow them through so that is rather reassuring.
