There are three application processes available for businesses to apply to the Council for Government Grants
The government has provided COVID-19 funding for businesses in the form of the Local Restrictions Support Grants (LRSG) and the Additional Restrictions Grants (ARG). The LRSG grants are for those businesses with an NNDR (business rates) account in their local authority area.
Due to the nature of the payments and number of grants , the government announced there is different criteria and payments depending on the tier restrictions and the impact on affected businesses.
To apply for these grants , businesses only need to complete one more application which can be done by visiting https://service.croydon.gov.uk/discretionary-grant-fund/w/webpage/lrsg
Businesses will need to apply with your business rates reference number.
In addition, Croydon Council launched phase two of the Additional Restrictions Grants on 16th February 2021 and it allows local authorities to support a broader section of their local business communities. This will be open to sole traders, among other organisations, subject to their meeting the eligibility criteria which we will be publishing very soon. Importantly, all applicants must trade within the London Borough of Croydon. This includes businesses and individuals who are home based in the borough, provided they have an annual turnover of £15,000 and can demonstrate a minimum loss of income of 10% during the current lockdown period.
