Last Saturday (10th June) Cllr Andy Stranack enjoyed sometime at the New Addington Carnival where the community come together to enjoy a day of family fun and entertainment. Later in the day he joined with Churches from across Croydon for a time of Worship and Celebration at the Fairfield Halls.
On Monday Andy joined ‘Cut it Out’ where young people the Police and voluntary sector groups came together to play football and stand against the youth crime and violence that can sometimes impact families in Croydon.
On Wednesday it was great to join pupils from across Croydon to see the work that they had done as part of the ‘Heartstone Odyssey’ project that is put on by the Statutory Advisory Committee on Religious Education and funded by MOPAC. The project helps children across Croydon explore issues of Hate Crime, Racism, Inclusion and Diversity.
Andy commented
“What has amazed me this week is the number of invisible volunteers who put in time and effort to make Croydon such a great place to live. From the dedicated team that help put on New Addington Carnival to the hundreds of people from the faith and voluntary sector who run so much activity for all residents. I say a humble thank you to you all.”
