Recently as ward councillor I referred application 21/04881/FUL Planning Committee.
The application proposes 2 semi detached houses behind 21/23 Harewood road with access onto Rayleigh Rise.
I am concerned about the impact on residents in Rayleigh Rise and Harewood road as well as damaging the character of Rayleigh Rise. The loss of gardens and nature habitat is a big concern for me as well.
A referral from a ward councillor or if more than 12 residents object means planning consent cannot be granted by planning officers under delegated powers. Instead if planning officers wish to approve they must bring their recommendation to approve to Planning Committee. At that meeting the ward councillor who has referred the application, one resident and the applicant are permitted to address the meeting.
I hope this application will be refused by the Council at the first stage of the process.
