Cllr Andy Stranack (Shadow Cabinet Member for Safer Croydon, Communities and Business Recovery) met with Angelique the founder of Croydon based charity Walk With Me UK. The Charity works alongside parents who have children who are caught up in the criminal justice system, have been excluded from mainstream education or are suffering for poor mental health. Often these young people are caught up in chid criminal or sexual exploitation. As the name of the charity suggests Walk with Me UK, works alongside parents to advocate on their behalf, but also provides parenting with tools such as the non-violence resistance approach to deescalate challenging behaviour.

"We are so fortunate to have charities like Walk With Me UK operating in Croydon. The Council, Health, Police and other statutory providers need to build stronger links with these types of Charities. The early intervention work that Walk With Me UK is literally saving the state millions of pounds in the long term, but more importantly it is restoring and strengthening family links."
