Cllr. Andy Stranack (Shadow Cabinet Member for Safer Croydon, Communities and Business Recovery) joined with community and faith groups, Met Police Officers, representatives from Pathfinders and CVA along with individual residents and local community groups. To hear about a new community initiative that encourages different groups to come together and provide community services and support for residents in New Addington. The group is the initiative of Still Shadey, who has grown up in New Addington and is passionate about the place he calls home.
Andy commented
“The atmosphere in the meeting was really warm, welcoming and positive. There are so many groups and individuals in New Addington who are working hard to provide services for the community, often with very little or no funding.
Still Shadey’s passion for New Addington is infectious, this new weekly meeting aims to bring groups and individuals together, so that New Addington can have a higher priority on the agenda of statutory services and other funders.”
The new community meeting (still to have an official name) will take place every Monday at the Pathfinders building on Central Parade between 1-3pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
