Dear Neighbour
Night-time road closure for resurfacing work - A23 Farthing Way
I am writing to let you know we will be shortly resurfacing part of A23 Farthing Way (the
Coulsdon Bypass), from the northbound bus lane to its junction with Pipers Road.
Work will take place over the following nights:
• Friday 29 January to Friday 12 February 2021 between 21:00 and 05:00, ending
05:00 Friday 12 February
We need to carry out this work when the roads are less busy. This is why we will close
the road and work at night,
We will make every effort to finish the work on time, although poor weather conditions
may mean we need to reschedule at short notice.
How this work may affect you:
Noisy work
Some vehicle noise will be present through the night, including vehicle reversing beepers, as
these are a legal requirement for larger vehicles at work sites. We will keep disruption to a
minimum, and complete noisier activities by midnight.
Local access
To complete the work safely, when we are working we will need to close A23 Farthing Way to
traffic from the northbound bus lane to the junction with Pipers Road. Pavements will remain
open and will provide safe routes for walking and cycling at all times.
During road closures general traffic, north and southbound will follow a clearly signed
diversion route via Brighton Road.
Bus information
Bus route 404 will also follow a local diversion via Brighton Road during road closures.
