Having submitted a objection and referred the application to Planning Committee, I was pleased to be able to speak on behalf of residents at last week's Planning Committee. Whilst it was clear that the application was a considerable overdevelopment of the site, one can never be sure how the vote will go. A local resident impacted by the development had produced an extremely high quality objection and spoke very clearly to Committee which certainly helped the case.
This was the second application for the site. There was a previous application by the same applicant which was declined and this was upheld on appeal. It is entirely possible that this decision will also be appealed by the applicant and/or a new application will be submitted.
In the meantime, congratulations to those residents who worked hard for this latest success.
