Jason Cummings has been a Croydon Central resident for over 25 years. Married to Rachel with two adult children both born here in Croydon. With a 20 year management career and experience of having worked at the heart of government.
Jeet Bains is your Councillor in Addiscombe East ward where he has lived for more than thirty years. Jeet has been a Councillor in Croydon since 2010 and takes a keen interest in helping local residents and businesses with any issues they have.
Luke Shortland was elected as Councillor for Coulsdon Town in 2022. One of the things Luke loves about Coulsdon is the real variety of shops in the town centre, with everything from a pottery café (where he got his first Saturday job over seven years ago!) to a candle shop.
Lynne Hale has lived in Sanderstead for 30 years. She worked locally as a healthcare professional for over twenty years before, having settled her three children into their Croydon schools, she moved into politics.
Yvette Hopley has lived in and around Sanderstead all her life. From an education in a local state school she went on to spend almost ten years working in public and government relations for an American Oil company. Yvette lives with Chris and has a daughter Natasha and grandson Hugh.
Living in Croydon all of my life has instilled a strong sense of passion for Croydon and its future. I have always been active in many of the local campaigns and projects, growing up in an area which prides itself on its Community spirit, and the ability to show a united front against issues that are important to the local residents.
Maria Gatland has lived and worked in South Croydon for more than 30 years. During that time she helped run the family business and cared for her husband during his long illness. Maria has worked hard to help and support residents in her ward since 2002.
It has been another exciting period to be the Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture in Croydon. It was a great pleasure to join with the team at Croydon Drop In and Cllr. Yvette Hopley at the launch their new talk bus in North End recently.
Marie Curie came in to talk to The Mayor, myself and officers about how they could support End of Life Care for residents in Croydon. It is important that we work with the Integrated Care Board and all other partners in ensuring that the statutory duties relating to palliative and end of life

Last week was another busy week as Croydon continued to celebrate its year as the London Borough of Culture. On Tuesday 3rd October it was a joy to join with Mayor Perry and Cllr. Kolade to celebrate the launch of Black History 365.
It was great to visit the Croydon Children’s Library last Saturday to kick off Black History Month and attend the Black British Book Festival. It was a real pleasure to meet talented author and illustrator Atinuke & Kingsley Nebechi and Author Sabine Adeyinka.
Many know from my previous postings that I am a Trustee of SLAM and therefore regularly attend Board meetings. I was delighted to hear that the unannounced inspection by the CQC of the older adults department was awarded "Outstanding" for their caring domain. Congratulations to the Chief
