With local elections only just over a month away on 3rd May, Croydon Conservatives are delighted to be the first party in Croydon to launch its full manifesto.
A printed summary has been delivered through many of the town’s letterboxes and it is also available to download as a PDF here There’s a lot of detailed policy within the full manifesto which doesn’t always fit into the printed summary, so for the maximum amount of detail and our full range of ideas, the whole manifesto is on a micro-site www.croydonconservatives.com/manifesto.
“A lot of people around the town tell us that the current Labour council isn’t listening” says Conservative Group Leader Cllr Tim Pollard. “Whether it is about granting planning permission for insensitive developments everywhere, closing the Fairfield Halls, abolishing the free green waste service or developing the ‘local plan’, they just don’t seem to be on residents’ side.
“We think that’s wrong, that a council exists to serve its residents, not to impose its ideological will on them. That’s why we have promised to be a listening council, one which is on the side of its residents.
“I hope that whatever your national political views you will find a lot to like in this manifesto. The next election is not about Brexit, the EU or the Government – it is about who is going to listen to residents and give them the local services they deserve.”
